Rain Rain Go Away

From the B.A.A. -
As the Boston Athletic Association continues to make preparations for Monday's Boston Marathon, we are monitoring the upcoming weather conditions forecast for this area.
Based on the National Weather Service's most recent report and in cooperation with the Executive Office of Public Safety (Commonwealth of Massachusetts) and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, together with the eight cities and towns along the 26.2-mile marathon route, we are planning for likely heavy rain and windy conditions on race day.
However, all race day plans remain the same.
The Boston Athletic Association advises participants in Monday's race to plan accordingly for their run, bringing with them gear and apparel to suit the conditions. The B.A.A. will continue to update this web site as necessary.

How do you feel about running in those adverse conditions? It's my first Boston, so I'll run no matter what the conditions. I think the PR I was shooting for is out the window, but at least I'll get to experience BOSTON!
Any ideas for rainy race day attire? This is my first marathon and don't want to be to hot or too cold...I am a big sweater and heat up easily...Thanks for anything anyone can share with me
if the rain and wind comes (which it seems like it will) i don't think many people will be thinking PR. i know this sounds crazy but i can't wait to see what Mother Nature throws at us. I'm actually a little excited to see how crazy it will be. it's like waiting for xmas morning. Whatever it is, it will surely be memorable. And you will be part of history. You put in the miles. so enjoy the day and try to smile in between the raindrops.
for race day attire, you're probably going to have to think in layers. and i would bring more than you think you need and start ripping off layers till you hit your comfort zone. a good idea may also be to keep a pair of extra socks in a small ziploc bag in case your feet get really soaked and need to change. this will be my first marathon in conditions like this so i'm trying to put together a gameplan as well.
I'm thinking about using a garbage bag to keep my core warm and I may spray water-proofing on my running cap. Gloves, of course.
